About AustinAid
AustinAid is a civic resource platform designed to make information about homelessness in Austin easier to find and understand. The site brings together local organizations, support programs, and location-based information in one accessible place.
AustinAid is designed for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness who are searching for resources, as well as Austin community members who want to better understand homelessness and find meaningful ways to contribute their time, talent, or financial support.
Meet the team
AustinAid was designed and developed by five UT Austin students for CS 373: Software Engineering.
Frontend & API Design
Zahra is a Computer Science student at UT Austin with interests in product development, technology, and entrepreneurship. She enjoys building technology that addresses real-world problems and creates meaningful impact.
Owns the shared frontend experience, including the AustinAid design system, navbar, splash and About pages, GitLab statistics integration, and Postman API design.
Locations & Mapping

Owns the Locations model, including collecting and integrating Austin location data and developing the Locations grid, three location instance pages, and map visualizations.
Programs & Data

Leads project coordination and deployment, including AWS hosting, HTTPS and domain setup, GitLab configuration, CI/CD, build files, issue management, merges, and final submission review.
